My husband met with somebody and got our equipment back. Somebody was whining how sorry he was and yadda-yadda. If you've ever dealt with people who cant seem to get their shit together because of an addiction........ you know the routine.
Now, if we will kindly sweep the whole incident under the rug because god forbid, one of the hubs momma's friends MIGHT find out.

Thats the way it always is...unless its your family then its "oooo, did you hear what happened with so-so brother yadayada." My husbands family is somewhat like that. Keep their shit personal but spread ours around like butter on hot corn. God bless 'em.
