Crow eatin' drama on HIS side of the family!

So........
Somebody (herein referred to as SOMEBODY) has a bit of a drug habit. This drug habit has cost him his wife and children as the divorce should be final any day now. Somebody's been borrowing money from friends and family members etc. until he just got so bad that people cut him off. He became to friendly with local pawn shops, bad checks and ripping people off, but not ever getting caught. Somebody's family didnt want to send his sorry ass to jail so everything gets handled "within" except somebody didnt figure on Heatherg not giving a damn about family because that blood runs through the hubby's veins, not mine baby!

So somebody comes to our home a couple of weeks ago and asks to borrow some lawn equipment so he can cut grass and make some extra money outside of his regular job. Not hearing any recent gossip about him, and being told by him that he was staying on the "down low" trying to put his life back together (We're not talking about a kid here folks, somebody had a 350k house, a good job, a awesome wife, 2 kids.......the American dream) So Heatherg gives him the benefit of the doubt. I allow him, even over hubby's raised eyebrow and thoughts, to borrow some lawn equipment. I figure, in my infinite wisdom, that he didnt come asking for money, he came asking for the tools to make him some money. You know, the whole give a man a fish and he eats for a day, give him the tools to fish and he eats for a week....... I went with that theory, a little bit of faith, alot of hope, and a feeling of goodness for helping him out. I went with more than i deserved.

Somebody screwed us 7 ways to Sunday.

Another member of the hubs family (you didnt think somebody fell off my family tree did you?LOL) came by our home last night and asked about some of our lawn equipment. I confidently piped up that, indeed, i had let somebody borrow them but should have them home by this weekend. At which time, family member said, " I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but i was in the pawn shop off XX road looking for a flat screen TV and SOMEBODY was in there pawning some lawn equipment"

You needed a spatula to pick me up off the ground! I immediately called the hubs to where we were standing so family member could repeat what he had just told me and once he did, the hubs just stood there. We were in shock. Granted, we prolly should have knows, maybe even saw it coming, but we were simply trying to help somebody out. Hubs grabbed his cell phone from his waist, and called somebody. He told somebody that he was on his way over to "other family members" house where somebody has been living to pick up our lawn equipment. Somebody said he would bring it to the house this weekend. Hubs said, NO, he needed it tonight as he was loaning it to my dad tomorrow (using my dad, saying he wanted to borrow it was a good tactic, no one messes with "big daddy") Knowing the conversation was going south, somebody was now saying that the equipment was locked up in his bosses warehouse and he couldnt get to it until 8 this morning. Which we know is crap, but the hubs said "ok" and to have it dropped off at hubs truck at his work by 8:30. All was agreed on and they hung up. We knew 99% at that point that our shit, that we financed, that we robbed peter to pay paul for those payments, that we earned, had been pawned. (We financed around 8k for the good STIHL equipment)

So then the power of the spoken word hit the hubs. People standing around, talking about it and going over it, set his soul on fire. Somebody is his younger sibling by 7-8 years (i forget) and the fact that he did this to him, to us, after we trusted him, only fueled the fire.

The hubs spoke with his mother and his father. (They are divorced) He also called back somebody with intentions to tell him flat out "we know you pawned our shit, give us the slips so we can get it out of hawk and then we'll discuss going to the sheriffs department" (Which i was all-about doing!) but suddenly somebody wasnt home anymore and wasnt answering his cell phone. Which only brought the hubs to toxic levels.

At some point, somebody got home because like a southerners sweet tea addiction, the news spread through the family in no time, and the hubs cell phone was vibrating and ringing and bouncing all over the tailgate of that truck with somebody calling him back!

Conversation went like this, "H" being hubs, and "S" being somebody.

H-Hello.
S- hey brother-man, whats up?
H- i aint playin' games with you tonight. I've already heard how your ass was up at the pawn shop pawing my shit.
S- That wasnt your shit
H- Then WHOSE shit was it? How many back pack blowers and hedge trimmers you borrow from people?
S- ok, well it was yours but i got them out the next day, they werent even there for 24 hours
H- How did you do that? If you didnt have money at 7:00 the night you pawned them, how did you have money at lunchtime the next day to get them out?
S- i got paid.
H- you got paid on a Wednesday? (Knowing he gets paid on Fridays)
S- I just got them out. I'm sorry, i knew it was wrong but i had a flat tire and no way to buy a new one (Which, family member had already had him tell him this story and when he left the shop he did go out and look at the tire, of which there was a donut spare on it)
H - why didnt you call and ask me for help instead of pawning 600 $ of my shit?
S- yadda-yadda-yadda

and so the conversation continued on like that......

The hubs took today off work. He has to go to the John Deere place today to get the Serial Numbers for all our stuff because we should have already had them but its one of those things you overlook somehow, he has to meet up with somebody to see if he actually has our stuff or if we have to get it out of hawk, he needs to figure out if he wants to go to the sheriffs department or not and at some point, I'd like for him to put a foot in somebody's ass.

I wont be shame though, WE wont be shame, we tried to help out, it simply didnt work, another bridge burned by somebody.

As soon as I know or hear more, i will update.
(Also, I spell checked and half ass read through but my grammar is prolly shit, as i was thinking and trying to type........my fingers couldnt keep up, but i hope you could!)

Go to Jail, do not collect $200. Thats crap. You guys struggled on every dime to pay for that stuff and you paid it early. He's trash.
Hubs should kick his ass, you should kick his ass, then send him to jail so they can get his ass.
